Description
What kind of wine it is
Serrocielo is a lively white wine produced by Feudi di San Gregorio, created to enhance the essence of Falanghina del Sannio. Its straw yellow colour with greenish highlights anticipates an aromatic profile dominated by small white flowers and fresh citrus notes. On the palate, it offers great freshness combined with a pleasant softness, standing out for its mineral character and a clean finish. It is the ideal choice to accompany refined seafood dishes.
Where it comes from
The Falanghina grapes are grown in the most suitable vineyards of Sannio, located among the inland hills of Campania. In this area, the altitude and marked temperature variations preserve the integrity and aromatic definition of the grapes. The terroir is characterised by volcanic soils, rich in pyroclastic rocks, tuff and limestone. This complex geological composition is faithfully reflected in the glass, giving the wine a vibrant savoury texture and a lively yet characterful drinkability.
How it is produced
The Falanghina harvest takes place between September and October. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, in order to preserve the precision of the varietal aromas. Maturation continues on the lees for about six months, accompanied by repeated bâtonnage to keep the fine lees in suspension. This technical step is essential to give the wine greater volume and smoothness, harmonising the natural acidic tension with a softer and more enveloping texture.
