Description
What kind of wine it is
Chardonnay is the soul of Ferrari Trento Perlé Zero Brut Nature, an elegant Traditional Method sparkling wine. To the eye, it displays a yellow colour with golden highlights, enlivened by a fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet is a weave of citrus notes, white flowers and mountain herbs, with clear marine sensations. On the palate, the soft and enveloping entry gives way to a marked savouriness, finishing with a dry ending recalling dried fruit and delicate spices.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Trentino-Alto Adige, in the prestigious Trento denomination area. Produced by Ferrari, the brand that since 1902 has carried on Giulio Ferrari's legacy, it reflects the precision and rigour of the Alpine territory. The mountain climate gives the grapes vibrant freshness and a clear flavour profile. Thanks to the zero dosage, the sparkling wine reveals itself in all its purity, offering an authentic mountain expression of the fruit.
How it is produced
The creation of this wine begins with manual harvesting. The cuvée is born from a careful blend of base wines matured in steel, glass and barrels, to ensure aromatic complexity without any residual sugar. The long ageing of at least six years on the lees gives the wine a deep structure and great persistence. At the table, it elegantly accompanies seafood starters, shellfish and refined first courses, but also pairs excellently with mature cheeses.
History and Curiosities
Combining the legacy of Giulio Ferrari from 1902 with the refined art of the cuvée, Perlé Zero celebrates the excellence of the Italian Metodo Classico. This magnificent expression of Chardonnay, based on the 2017 vintage, is born from a mosaic of historic vintages aged in steel, wood, and glass. Resting for at least 6 years on the lees, the wine develops a profound elegance enriched by citrus aromas, mountain herbs, and marine notes. Its strict zero dosage offers a savoury, pure, and enveloping sip, embodying the absolute essence of the historic Trentino winery.

A skilled and painstaking enologist who had studied at the prestigious School of Viticulture in Montpellier, Giulio created Ferrari in 1902, producing very few, extremely select bottles at a prohibitive price, but which were still never bought to satisfy the demand of wine lovers. In 1952 Bruno Lunelli, the owner of Trento’s best-known wine bar took over Ferrari from Giulio, who continued to work in the winery until his death. Then, thanks to meticulous labour in the winery and his innate entrepreneurial verve, Bruno Lunelli increased production until it reached a hundred thousand bottles a year. In the decades that followed, Bruno Lunelli’s sons, Gino, Franco and Mauro, brought the company, which produces exclusively Classic Method sparkling wines, to the apex of quality and fame - in other words, to the peak of excellence.
Today, as was the case in the past, the Lunelli family continues to be the lifeblood of the Ferrari brand. The third generation runs the company with respect for the past and clear ideas for the future.
Their goal is to preserve the prestige of the leading producer of the Classic Method sparkling wines in Italy and one of the top ten in the world. Whilst proudly maintaining the structure of a family-owned company, the Lunelli have conquered the market through business strategies that have made Ferrari into much more than just a successful brand. The company is a real international legend, producing the best of "Made in Italy". Read more
