Description

What kind of wine it is

Toscana Rosato by Fattoria Aldobrandesca is a still rosé wine that captures the authentic essence of Tuscany. Made from Aleatico grapes, it stands out for its bright pink colour and refined aromatic profile. The bouquet reveals floral notes of rose, enriched by hints of citrus and small red fruits. On the palate, it is elegant and savoury, with a fruity balance that ensures a prolonged taste persistence. Its natural freshness makes it perfect for pairing with lean fish dishes and fresh cheeses.

Where it comes from

This wine comes from the surroundings of the historic locality of Sovana, set in a picturesque Tuscan landscape. The vineyards are located at around two hundred metres above sea level, on slopes and plains characterised by volcanic soil. The subsoil is rich in tuffaceous rock, an element that shapes the character of the vine. These unique soil and climate conditions favour a precise definition of the fruit, giving the wine that distinctive savoury identity which is its hallmark.

How it is produced

Production begins with manual harvesting carried out in several stages during September, essential for preserving the aromatic integrity of the Aleatico. After destemming, the grapes undergo gentle pressing and a short cold maceration on the skins, crucial for achieving the characteristic colour tone. Fermentation takes place in small stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Afterwards, the wine ages on its own lees until bottling, a process that enhances its finesse and gustatory complexity.

History and Curiosities

Produced in the evocative volcanic terroir of Sovana, A Toscana Rosato by Fattoria Aldobrandesca expresses the utmost elegance of pure Aleatico. The grapes, carefully hand-picked, undergo a delicate cold maceration to preserve the refined floral notes of rose, combined with lively hints of citrus and small red fruits. It matures on its own lees, developing a harmonious savouriness and excellent persistence on the palate. With its bright pink colour, it is ideal for accompanying cheese or lean fish.
