Description
What kind of wine it is
The Enrico Serafino Alta Langa M+M Perpetuelle Sbagliato sparkling wine is a Traditional Method made from Pinot Noir grapes, an authentic expression of the Alta Langa region. In the glass, it stands out for its fine and persistent perlage, offering a complex bouquet with notes of bread crust, toasted hazelnut and yellow flowers. On the palate, it is juicy and enveloping, supported by a pronounced acidity that accompanies a saline and elegant finish, defined by the Extra Brut dosage.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from organic and sustainably managed vineyards located in the municipalities of Mango, Trezzo Tinella, Loazzolo and Bubbio. The vineyards, cultivated using the Guyot system, are situated between 450 and 550 metres above sea level and benefit from various hillside exposures. This unique terroir ensures balanced ripening, preserving the natural acidic tension necessary for the longevity and harmony of this Alta Langa.
How it is produced
After manual harvesting and gentle pressing, the base wines mature in stainless steel. The winery applies the Perpetuelle Sbagliato method, a blend in which fractions of reserve wines age together with the younger bases. The secondary fermentation in the bottle takes place according to the Traditional Method, with a period on the lees of at least thirty months. The process concludes with an exclusive dosage that does not involve the use of spirits.
History and Curiosities
Born in the historic Enrico Serafino cellar, this elegant Alta Langa DOCG showcases the innovative Perpetuelle Sbagliato method, blending Pinot Noir from the 2018 vintage with precious reserves from 2015 to 2020. In this process, the mature wines educate the younger ones, creating a rare complexity that was awarded 92 points by Vinous. After thirty months of ageing on the lees, the glass releases deep notes of toasted hazelnut and yellow flowers. On the palate, it is juicy, concentrated and enveloping, finishing with a long, saline aftertaste without the use of spirits in the dosage.

Founded by Serafino Enrico, an entrepreneur and landowner, the winery soon became one of the most important in Piedmont and among the first to spread the region's classic wines throughout Italy and abroad. In addition to the classic Piedmontese wines of the area, first and foremost Roero, Arneis and Barbera, the company produces great Barolo and Barbaresco from grapes from the nearby Langhe, noble and elegant wines in which the Nebbiolo grape variety expresses its characteristics at its best. But Enrico Serafino's pride and joy is the selection signed 'Cantina Maestra', in which the red wines Pasiunà and Parduné stand out, the highest expression of excellence of the Roero territory, and the Metodo Classico Alta Langa DOC sparkling wines.
