Description
What kind of wine it is
The Champagne Brut Nature by Drappier is a refined Blanc de Noirs that expresses the absolute purity of Pinot Noir. Produced using the Traditional Method Pas Dosé, it has a dry and crisp profile. Visually, it appears brilliant with delicate copper highlights, while on the nose it releases an intense and fresh aroma. The bouquet offers notes of wild berries, vineyard peach, blackcurrant and hints of honeyed bread. On the palate, it delivers marked freshness and a well-defined fruity texture, finishing with a clean and persistent aftertaste. Ideal for enhancing shellfish, sushi and soft cheeses.
Where it comes from
This Blanc de Noirs originates around Urville, an area highly suited to this grape variety. The secret of this cuvée lies in the limestone soils, which give the wine a distinct gustatory tension and precise aromatic definition, hallmark characteristics of Champagne. Since 1808, Drappier has cultivated these lands, making the most of the best-exposed plots to obtain authentic and fragrant wines. The carbon neutral production respects the ecosystem and ensures a faithful expression of the Urville terroir.
How it is produced
The production process begins with the first pressing of the grapes, followed by careful natural decantation of the must. Alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously at a low temperature. The wine is then matured exclusively in steel tanks, a choice aimed at preserving maximum freshness. The prise de mousse is carried out strictly according to the Traditional Method, without the addition of any dosage syrup, to enhance the straightforward nature of the cuvée. Finally, a long bottle ageing of three years gives depth and finesse to the sip, which is unfiltered to offer a pure and direct tasting experience.
History and Curiosities
Since 1808, the Drappier family has been producing excellent Champagne in Urville, continuing a long-standing tradition. This Blanc de Noirs celebrates the pure essence of Pinot Noir, vinified without any added dosage. Obtained from the first pressing, with natural decantation and minimal use of sulphites, it matures in steel to preserve a vibrant freshness. After three years of ageing in the bottle, it offers an authentic sip, unfiltered and with zero carbon emissions, acclaimed by critics for its extraordinary elegance.

Seven centuries later (in 1808), the Drappier family estate was established around the magnificently preserved medieval Abbey. Today, it is managed by Michel Drappier and is used to store and age the exceptional wines he produces.
We planted our vineyard in Urville, the terroir that welcomed the Pinot Noir grape variety that now "runs in our veins" and we manage it according to organic and natural practices.
Our vineyards are like family archives that perpetuate our history. We grow heirloom grape varieties that deserve to be remembered: Fromenteau, Arbanne, Petit Meslier and Blanc Vrai. While many seek to achieve sophisticated excellence, we prefer natural and authentic qualities. We also highlight the many facets of our terroirs through our vinification techniques: our low sugar dosage and moderate use of sulfites – especially in the production of Drappier Brut Nature Sans Soufre.
