Description

What kind of wine it is

Chateau Potensac is a still red wine that embodies the classic Bordeaux profile, presenting a deep ruby colour with violet highlights. The result of a careful blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it expresses a floral and fruity bouquet, rich in notes of blackberry, blackcurrant and plum. On the palate it is dry, characterised by a medium-full body and well-integrated tannins. The tasting reveals earthy and smoky notes, enhanced by subtle hints of cocoa and tobacco, finishing with a long, mineral finish.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in France, in the Médoc area, located within the renowned Bordeaux region. Produced by Chateau Potensac, it faithfully reflects the identity of the Bordeaux soil. To enhance its aromatic complexity, it is recommended to decant for about an hour before serving, at a temperature between 16 and 18°C. At the table, its freshness pairs beautifully with red meats and game, and is also ideal with pork dishes and flavourful cheeses.

How it is produced

Production is based on a rigorous selection of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes, vinified to enhance the natural vibrancy of the fruit. The process continues with targeted maturation in barrels, using a proportion of new oak. This stage enriches the organoleptic profile with elegant cedar notes and subtle vanilla hints, while preserving the expressiveness of the grapes. The entire process gives the wine a solid structure and excellent ageing potential over time.
