Description
What kind of wine it is
Domaine Jean Michel Welty Pinot Blanc Auxerrois is an organic white wine that faithfully expresses the character of Alsace. Made from Auxerrois grapes, it reveals open and pleasantly fruity aromas on the nose. On the palate, it offers a soft sip, characterised by a precise balance between fruit and freshness. This combination makes it ideal for pairing with cheese, poultry, and vegetarian dishes.
Where it comes from
The roots of this label lie in the hills of Bollenberg, an area of Alsace known for its distinctive arid heathland. This environment gives the grapes a defined sense of place. The estate is managed by Jean-Michel Welty, a winery active since 1738 and run by independent winemakers now in their eighth generation, committed to enhancing the region's historic vocation.
How it is produced
The estate follows a strict organic farming approach, applying sustainable practices. The Auxerrois grapes are vinified to preserve their aromatic profile and characteristic softness. The result is a dry white wine with a recommended ageing potential of 3-5 years. To best appreciate its organoleptic qualities, it is recommended to serve at a temperature of 10-12 °C.
History and Curiosities
Domaine Jean-Michel Welty continues a family tradition dating back to 1738, now in its eighth generation. Thanks to the expansion of the vineyards initiated by Jean-Michel and the vision of his son Jérémy, the estate has practised strict organic farming since 2012. From this dedication comes the Pinot Blanc Auxerrois 2024, a fine Alsace AOC grown on the arid hills of Bollenberg. Made exclusively from Auxerrois grapes and crafted by a true independent winemaker, this wine encapsulates in the glass the deepest and most historic soul of the Alsatian heath.

Eight generations later, we are continuing this wonderful family story, which links us so closely to the land, the vines and the wine, with the same faith and the same enthusiasm.
Every day, our work is guided by the conviction that nature will give us back what we have given her.
It's been over thirty-five years since Jean-Michel took up the torch left by his father Fernand, gradually doubling the surface area of the vineyard.
In September 2012, he was joined by his son Jérémy, who brought a breath of fresh air to the estate with new creations and a new method of cultivation: Organic Farming. Read more
