Description
What kind of wine it is
Vougeot Le Village by Domaine Bertagna is a still red wine that embodies the authentic character of Vougeot, in Burgundy. Made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, it stands out for its clear aromatic profile, dominated by notes of small red fruits, humus and liquorice. On the palate, it is well-structured and dense, while maintaining a pleasant smoothness. The flavour profile culminates in a savoury finish, offering a satisfying drink in perfect Côte de Nuits style.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from a small plot located in the commune of Vougeot, a short distance from the Château du Clos de Vougeot. The vines, cultivated using Guyot pruning and a high planting density, are managed according to the principles of organic farming. To encourage balanced and concentrated ripening, the estate practises careful thinning of the bunches. These rigorous agronomic practices give the wine a strong territorial identity, making it a true expression of Burgundy.
How it is produced
After manual harvesting, a total destemming is carried out to preserve and enhance the primary aromas of the grape. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with extraction entrusted to gentle pumping over that defines colour and structure. Finally, the wine matures for a period between sixteen and eighteen months in French oak barrels. This stage is essential to enrich the tannic texture without overpowering the fruit, ensuring a clean and harmonious sip.
