Description
What kind of wine it is
The sparkling wine Domaine Allimant-Laugner Crémant d’Alsace Brut is a medium-bodied wine created from a refined blend of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Riesling. In the glass, it displays a bright straw yellow colour, animated by an abundant and persistent perlage that creates a soft mousse. The bouquet opens with fragrant aromas of white flowers, green apple and ripe yellow fruit, followed by delicate citrus nuances and subtle toasted hints. On the palate, it is balanced and complex, supported by a lively acidity that brings back notes of apricot and pear, finishing with persistent brioche notes.
Where it comes from
This sparkling wine is produced in Orschwiller, at the heart of the renowned Crémant d’Alsace appellation. The Allimant-Laugner estate, a family-run business now led by the third generation, manages twelve hectares of vineyards with great dedication. The vines draw nourishment from granite and gypsum soils, enriched with gneiss, clay and limestone. This unique geological composition is reflected in a tense and precise flavour profile, enhancing the intense natural freshness and aromatic definition of the grapes grown in this historic corner of France.
How it is produced
Vinification strictly follows the Traditional Method, involving a secondary fermentation in the bottle that significantly enriches the wine’s structure and complexity. The brut dosage is carefully calibrated to maintain perfect balance, enhancing the vibrant character of each sip. This rigorous process ensures a solid ageing potential in the cellar, ranging from five to ten years. At the table, it proves to be an excellent aperitif and pairs beautifully with spicy Asian dishes, summer salads and cheeses, particularly complementing oysters and fresh seafood.
