Description
What type of wine it is
Amour de Deutz is a Brut Champagne from the house of Deutz, an elegant expression of Chardonnay. Crafted using the Traditional Method, it reveals a fresh and structured profile. On the palate, it offers a fine and persistent perlage, combining vibrant mineral tension with a creamy texture. The nose delivers clear aromas of white flowers, citrus, and yellow fruit, intertwined with fragrant notes of pastry that evolve into hints of honey and light toastiness.
Where it comes from
This Champagne originates from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards located between the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, including famous villages such as Avize, Oger, and Chouilly. The terroir is distinguished by predominantly chalky soils, a decisive factor in giving the glass its fine perlage and a distinct mineral character. The agronomic management of the parcels adopts sustainable viticulture practices, reflecting Deutz's rigour in maximising the purity and nuances of the raw material.
How it is produced
Production begins with a meticulous manual harvest. The musts from individual plots ferment separately, undergoing malolactic fermentation, ensuring maximum aromatic clarity. Once the blend of crus is created, the wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle following the principles of the Traditional Method. This is followed by a long ageing on the lees for at least nine years in the underground cellars, essential for amplifying its complexity and elegance. The precise Brut-style dosage finally defines the harmonious structural balance of this cuvée.
History and curiosities
Inspired by the bronze cherub from which it takes its name, this Champagne originates from a historic House founded in Aÿ in 1838, carrying forward a long tradition of passion and dedication.

The registers and order books bear witness: Deutz had already earned a solid reputation well before the beginning of the 20th century.
Over the years, their successors worked hard to develop the brand's character and elegance. From the outset, Deutz on its approach through the generations: a consistent and harmonious blend which gives all Deutz wines a unique style.
And because quality is born of the fruit of the earth, the brand has purchased land in some of the Champagne's best villages. These include, in addition to Aÿ, plots within the famous "Côte des Blancs".
Today, under the leadership of Fabrice Rosset, Deutz demonstrates the same rectitude in its quest for excellence. Its assets include a passion for terroir and tradition, sustainable viticulture, and a fine range of carefully crafted wines.
