Description
What kind of wine it is
Delamotte Champagne Brut is an elegant sparkling wine created from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Crafted using the Traditional Method, it appears in the glass with a straw yellow colour, golden highlights and a fine, persistent perlage. The bouquet reveals fragrant notes of citrus, green apple and white flowers, harmoniously balanced by hints of brioche, fresh almond and custard. On the palate, it is fresh, mineral and creamy, finishing with a persistent clean and fruity aftertaste.
Where it comes from
This wine is produced in France, in the prestigious Champagne region. The historic Delamotte winery, founded in 1760, is the fifth oldest estate in the renowned Côte des Blancs. The vineyards stretch along the gentle slopes between Cramant and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, also including the areas of Avize and Oger. The uniqueness of this wine-growing area lies in its typical chalky soils, which impart a profound mineral character to the grapes. This unmistakable terroir ensures a consistent aromatic profile and a natural freshness, defining the authentic local identity.
How it is produced
Vinification is carefully managed to enhance the purity of the fruit's character. The must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and subsequently completes malolactic fermentation, thus acquiring greater smoothness on the palate. The prise de mousse follows the rules of the Traditional Method, with the wine undergoing patient ageing on the lees for thirty-six months in the winery's cellars. At disgorgement, the precise Brut dosage seals an organoleptic balance characterised by great tension and finesse.
