Description
What kind of wine it is
The Amarone della Valpolicella from La Collina dei Ciliegi is a structured still red wine, the result of a careful blend of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes. In the glass, it displays a dense garnet colour, heralding a profile defined by notes of cherry jam and sweet spices. On the palate, it offers a bold entry and an enveloping body, finishing with a balsamic and balanced aftertaste. Its broad flavour profile makes it ideal for pairing with slow-cooked meats, game and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from the hills of Valpantena, in the Grezzana area, near Verona. The vineyards of La Collina dei Ciliegi are set in a historically renowned area, where vines grow alongside characteristic fruit trees. In this setting, agricultural work aims to enhance the aromatic concentration and expressive power of the grapes. The result is a glass that reflects the Veronese identity, maintaining a clear and recognisable link with its landscape of origin.
How it is produced
Vinification begins with the drying of the grapes for at least four months, resulting in a weight loss of about forty percent. This is followed by fermentation, with a thirty-day maceration that gives the wine its structure. The wine then matures in wooden barrels for twenty-four months, before resting for a further six months in the bottle. This rigorous process creates a complex and profound flavour profile, enhanced by a delicate leathery note on the persistent finish.
History and Curiosities
Born from the deep passion of the Gianolli family for the Veronese land, La Collina dei Ciliegi expresses the authentic essence of Valpantena. On the 30 hectares of the estate located in Grezzana, lush vineyards alternate with splendid fruit trees that give the company its name. Under the expert guidance of oenologist Paolo Posenato, this agricultural project produces around one hundred thousand bottles a year. From this reality comes a magnificent Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, an exclusive still red capable of enhancing the territorial vocation.

Massimo Gianolli, successful businessman and wine enthusiast since his youth, met Stefano Falla, with whom he shared his passion, and together they created in 2005 a small-scale production, using a selection of grapes allocated for their first Amarone. This wine, as dictated by the strict production protocol, would be created four years later.
The registered offices and the showroom are in Milan (Via Giorgio Stephenson, 43A) while the vineyards and the estate are near Verona, on the Valpantena hills. The 45-hectare estate is adorned with vineyards and lush cherry trees, giving the brand its name.
