Description
What kind of wine it is
Champagne Art Deco Brut is a Traditional Method sparkling wine with Brut dosage produced by Collet. It is created from a skilful blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. In the glass, it displays a bright lemon-yellow colour, enhanced by an extremely fine perlage. The aromatic profile opens with hints of tulips and white flowers, enriched by lemon zest and ripe citrus fruits. This is followed by notes of pineapple and apple, with smoky nuances, anise and lavender honey. On the palate, the creamy texture envelops the citrusy attack, revealing crisp fruit and a hint of salinity. It pairs harmoniously with veal carpaccio, selected cheeses and lean fish.
Where it comes from
The identity of this Premier Cru Champagne reflects the territorial variety of the region, combining grapes harvested in outstanding villages such as Ville-Dommange, Mailly-Champagne and Vertus. Collet, a historic independent winegrowers estate founded in 1921 in Aÿ, selects different terroirs to define a sip of consistent finesse. The exposure of the soils enhances the natural balance of the grapes, while ageing in centuries-old limestone cellars gives the wine a profound roundness, broadening its aromatic complexity and gustatory breadth.
How it is produced
Production follows the strict rules of the Traditional Method, with the prise de mousse taking place through secondary fermentation in the bottle. Ageing on the lees lasts for at least four years, an essential step to integrate the dosage and achieve the typical soft texture. This careful process preserves the original freshness while enhancing the delicacy of the aromatic profile. Best served between 6 and 8°C, this wine boasts excellent ageing potential, lending itself to optimal bottle maturation estimated between five and ten years.
