Chateau Olivier Pessac Leognan Grand Cru Classe Rouge is a still red wine with an intense ruby red colour. This blend of grapes offers on the nose a bouquet of cherries and blackberries, enriched by elegant hints of liquorice and cocoa. On the palate, it reveals an elegant and balanced profile, supported by a harmonious structure in every component. Where it comes from

This wine originates in Léognan, in the renowned Bordeaux region, within the Pessac Leognan area. The producer, Chateau Olivier, manages a large estate located just a few kilometres from the city, where vineyards coexist with woods, meadows and bodies of water in a highly picturesque landscape. In 1953, the property received the official Grand Cru Classé classification, testifying to the historical importance and excellence of the Bordeaux territory to which it belongs.

How it is produced

Production is based on the processing of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot varieties, whose skilful blending defines the style and solidity of the wine. The resulting structure is designed to evolve over time, ensuring an estimated longevity of between ten and fifteen years. During this period, the taste and aromatic components continue to refine progressively, reaching greater complexity. The constant commitment in the vineyard and cellar is confirmed by the regular awards given by the international critics.

From this winery
At the heart of a vast estate containing forests, prairies and vines, Château Olivier sits like a clearing emerging from its woods. Its beautiful architecture, bodies of water and the quality of its annex buildings all add up to make an exceptional site in natural surroundings, situated only 11 kilometres from Bordeaux.

Olivier is a very old area, dating back to the Middle Ages. It is said that the Black Prince enjoyed coming here to hunt, as the surrounding forests were so well stocked with game. Since the 19th century, the estate has belonged to an old Bordeaux family. The wines of Château Olivier were officially classified in 1953.
