Description
What kind of wine it is
Château de Reignac Bordeaux Supérieur is a still red wine that elegantly expresses the character of the Bordeaux region. This blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc offers a structured and harmonious profile. With an intense violet colour, it opens on the nose with notes of blackcurrant and plum, enhanced by refined woody hints. On the palate, it stands out for its soft tannins and an explosion of small red fruits, delivering a creamy and balanced sip, perfect for pairing with grilled meats and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
Château de Reignac is located in the Bordeaux region, situated on a strategic rise in the Entre-Deux-Mers area. This estate boasts a vineyard landscape that skilfully synthesises the characteristics of both Bordeaux banks. The vines sink their roots into clay-limestone and clay-gravel soils, ideal terroirs for giving the wine pronounced density. Strict agricultural practices, combined with a high planting density and the use of sustainable methods, promote a healthy and highly concentrated harvest.
How it is produced
Production begins with meticulous manual harvesting, followed by a double selection of the bunches. Vinification involves cold maceration, aimed at optimising the definition and freshness of the aromas. After malolactic fermentation, the wine begins its ageing process. Maturation continues in French oak barrels for twelve months, a technical choice that enhances the aromatic persistence and ensures a final tasting that is savoury, deep and expressive.

The original Château was built by Seigneur Baude de Peyron in the 16th century. Remodeled in the 18th and 19th centuries. A remarkable greenhouse was designed by Gustave Eiffel, the man who created the tower that bears his name in Paris. Yves and Stephanie Vatelot, purchased Reignac in 1990 and have worked continuously ever since to restore the state to its former glory while introducing numerous innovations. The very talented Michel Rolland is their consulting oenologist.
