Description
What kind of wine it is
Chateau de Camensac Grand Cru Haut Medoc is a still red wine that elegantly embodies the character of Bordeaux. This Grand Cru Classé presents itself with a clear, bright red hue. On the nose, it offers a clean profile, characterised by delicate notes of cocoa beans and praline, which give way to hints of black pepper and rose aromas. On the palate, the blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot reveals a crisp and fragrant attack. Notes of blackberry and raspberry emerge, integrated with elegant hints of fine wood, leading to a very long finish dominated by red fruits. Ideal paired with meats, game and mature cheeses, it expresses its full potential with about an hour of decanting.
Where it comes from
The grapes are grown in the commune of Saint-Laurent-Médoc, a prestigious area within the Haut-Médoc region. The vineyards of Chateau de Camensac cover sixty-five hectares and benefit from organic and sustainable management. The high planting density, combined with an average vine age of thirty-five years, promotes superior viticultural quality. Yields are strictly limited, an agronomic choice that ensures excellent aromatic concentration and perfect structural balance in the bunches before harvest.
How it is produced
Production begins with meticulous manual harvesting, during which the bunches are carefully selected to bring only the best fruit to the winery. The winemaking process concludes with bottling carried out directly on the estate. This wine is designed to evolve over time, boasting a remarkable ageing potential estimated between ten and fifteen years. To fully enhance its complexity and structure, it is advisable to serve at a temperature between 16 and 18°C, thus offering a rigorous and balanced tasting experience.
