Description

What kind of wine is it

Chateau Bellegrave Pauillac is a still red wine produced in the prestigious Pauillac area of Bordeaux, created from a skilful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red colour, hinting at a complex bouquet characterised by ripe red fruits, spices, cedar notes and subtle earthy undertones. On the palate, it reveals a rich and refined sip, supported by structured tannins and moderate acidity, leading to a long and satisfying finish, making it ideal for pairing with pork dishes and mature cheeses.

Where does it come from

This great red wine is born in the prestigious terroirs of the Médoc, within the renowned Bordeaux wine region. The vineyards, with an average age of twenty-five years, are cultivated using the double Guyot system, ensuring optimal yield. The notable planting density encourages natural competition among the vines, concentrating the aromas and improving the quality of the grapes. This pedoclimatic environment gives the wine its pronounced territorial character and a solid structure, designed for remarkable longevity.

How is it produced

The production process of Chateau Bellegrave begins with rigorous temperature-controlled vinification and meticulous cold maceration, designed to preserve maximum aromatic integrity. The must remains in contact with the skins for about three weeks, ensuring excellent extraction of colour and phenolic compounds. Subsequently, the wine matures for twelve months in oak barrels, forty per cent of which are new, allowing the organoleptic profile to evolve and perfectly integrate the spicy notes. It is recommended to decant for about an hour and serve between 16 and 18°C to fully appreciate its harmony.
