Description

What kind of wine it is

Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires represents a pure expression in which Chardonnay reveals its innate elegance. Produced strictly following the Traditional Method, it stands out for its lively perlage that illuminates the intense golden colour, enhanced by subtle green reflections. On the nose, the bouquet weaves delicate scents of violet and acacia with notes of blood orange and hints of Mediterranean scrub, which then fade into aromas of pineapple and fig. On the palate, the Champagne reveals a chalky texture and a creamy consistency with hints of nougat and citrus fruits, finishing with balanced toasted accents.

Where it comes from

The wine is born in Reims from a meticulous blend of grapes from five outstanding Crus in the region. Each area brings a distinctive nuance: Oger provides an enveloping structure, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger offers tactile richness, while Avize imparts a clear citrusy minerality. Cramant adds depth and Vertus ensures a fresh and lively finish. The union of these different terroirs creates a Blanc de Blancs of great balance, characterised by deep persistence and a pleasant saline sensation.

How it is produced

The secondary fermentation in the bottle, the heart of the Traditional Method, defines the refined structure of this wine, while the Brut dosage enhances its natural savouriness. The result is a concentrated sip, able to combine lightness and persistence in a broad and generous finish. Best served at a temperature of 6-8 °C, it is perfect as an aperitif or to accompany a meal. Its pronounced minerality pairs ideally with shellfish dishes, delicate fish, cheeses and refined gastronomic preparations.
