Description

What kind of wine is it

Cesarini Sforza 1673 Trento Brut is a sparkling wine that showcases the precision of the Traditional Method. The result of a meticulous blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, it stands out for its fine and creamy perlage. The bouquet reveals aromas of Golden apple and white peach, followed by hints of ripe fruit and delicate notes of bread crust. On the palate, it is complex and structured, supported by a pleasant acidity that makes the sip persistent. It is an ideal pairing for starters, cheese selections and dishes based on lean fish.

Where does it come from

This sparkling wine originates in Trentino-Alto Adige, in the Val di Cembra, within the Trento denomination. The vineyards are located between 500 and 600 metres above sea level; the south and south-east exposure favours regular ripening, preserving the natural acidity of the grapes. The vines take root in a loamy-sandy and loose soil, rich in porphyry, a geological element that imparts great precision of flavour and remarkable longevity. Cultivation follows the simple Trentino pergola and Guyot systems.

How is it produced

Production begins with the manual harvesting of the grapes, followed by a gentle pressing. After static decantation, the must ferments at a controlled temperature in steel and matures on the fine lees for over seven months to define the structure of the blend. With the tirage, refermentation in the bottle begins, as required by the Traditional Method. The sparkling wine matures for 36 months on the lees, developing perfect harmony before disgorgement, and is completed with a Brut dosage that respects its original balance.

History and Curiosities

Born in the heart of the Val di Cembra, the prestigious Cesarini Sforza 1673 Trento Brut Millesimato 2021 celebrates the excellence of a winery founded in 1974. The fine grapes, hand-picked from porphyry-rich soils, are expertly crafted by oenologist Andrea Buccella following the Traditional Method. The patient ageing of 36 months on the lees gives this sparkling wine a fine and creamy perlage and a structured elegance, sealing a local success confirmed by prestigious awards such as the Cinque Grappoli from Bibenda.

From Parma, where they participated in the government of the Duchy, the Cesarini Sforza moved two centuries ago to the then Prince-Bishopric of Trento and Count Filippo assumed, as Podestà, the leadership of the city. At that time, it was common for noble families such as Cesarini Sforza to own and cultivate beautiful countryside and, in a land suited to viticulture such as that of Trentino, to have vineyards of great value.

Reviving this ancient legacy, in 1974 Lamberto Cesarini Sforza, together with a small group of entrepreneurs, founded the eponymous winerywith the aim of producing high quality sparkling wines that would be able to impose themselves not only among Trentino producers, but also on the national and international scene.

Today, just like in the origins, Cesarini Sforza holds firm to the three pillars on which the best winemaking culture is founded: tradition, innovation and the pursuit of excellence. Cesarini Sforza, under the aegis of Aquila Reale, makes itself the interpreter of the noblest mountain bubbles, refined and versatile sparkling wines capable of proudly telling all the strength of a unique territory, extraordinarily suited to viticulture.
