Description
What kind of wine it is
The Cesari Bosan Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva presents a clear garnet colour. The bouquet reveals notes of black cherry, blood orange and balsamic sensations of moss, enriched by elegant hints of leather, cocoa and graphite. On the palate, it is warm and enveloping, distinguished by a savoury dynamism and vivid freshness. The measured tannic texture accompanies the sip towards remarkable persistence with hints of rhubarb, making it ideal for structured dishes or for meditation.
Where it comes from
The identity of this wine is born in the heart of Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. Cesari enhances this vocation by carefully tending the vineyards located between Fumane and Cavaion Veronese. From these lands originates an indigenous blend of Corvina and Rondinella grapes, an authentic expression of Valpolicella Classica. The particular pedoclimatic environment gives rise to a full-bodied red, capable of balancing savouriness and softness in a structured and intensely aromatic profile.
How it is produced
Production involves manual harvesting followed by meticulous drying in crates of the best grapes for four months. The wine then matures for eighteen months in large Slavonian oak barrels and small French oak barrels. The process concludes with a further ageing in bottle of equal duration, a fundamental step to integrate the structure and consolidate persistence. The result is a vegan wine with a velvety and complex texture.
History and Curiosities
Born from the long-standing expertise of the Gerardo Cesari winery, founded in 1936, the Bosan Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva DOCG enhances the authentic terroir of the Valpolicella Classica. Its richness comes from a four-month drying process in wooden crates, followed by three years of ageing in Slavonian oak barrels, barriques and tonneaux. Once bottle maturation is complete, the 2016 vintage, overseen by oenologist Michele Gamba, offers an enveloping elegance ideal for contemplation, awarded IWSC silver and 94 points by James Suckling.
