Description
What kind of wine it is
The Toscana Rosso Liù from Castello dei Rampolla is a pure and defined expression of the Merlot grape variety. Produced in Tuscany, it reveals a fresh profile with distinctly balsamic notes. On the nose, clear hints of eucalyptus, resin and liquorice emerge, gently intertwined with floral nuances of peony, violet and intense notes of blackcurrant. In the glass, it displays a bright ruby colour enriched by delicate violet reflections. The palate is vibrant and savoury, supported by dense tannins that lead the tasting towards a harmonious, persistent and elegant finish.
Where it comes from
This red is born in Panzano in Chianti, a central area highly suited to regional viticulture. The Castello dei Rampolla winery, a historic and influential presence in the area, cultivates its vineyards strictly following the principles of biodynamic agriculture. Careful agronomic practices allow for progressive and regular ripening, ensuring perfectly intact raw material. This conscious approach encourages the natural vitality of the vines, allowing the grapes to fully reflect the identity of the terroir for a wine with a clear territorial character.
How it is produced
The vinification enhances the integrity of the fruit through a respectful and minimally invasive process. After fermentation, the wine matures for nine months in cement vats and terracotta amphorae, neutral containers that preserve the original aromatic clarity. The process is completed with a final period of rest, carried out strictly without filtration to maintain the wine’s rich structure intact. At the table, it pairs excellently with roast red meats, game and mature cheeses, also enhancing first courses with rich ragù for a memorable gastronomic experience.
