Description
Provenance
This wine comes to life in the heart of the Barolo region, specifically within Castiglione Falletto. Its creation represents a profound tribute to the agricultural roots of Cascina Fontana, a family that has worked and cared for these soils for six generations. The producer's visceral bond with their land was born from listening to the elderly farmers and finds expression in the dedication to grandfather Saverio, a master of both vineyard and life. The communal designation emphasises a defined and recognisable provenance, with the precise intention of consistently enhancing the profound territorial identity of its origin.
Production
The production process is based on the principles of responsible viticulture and vinification that respects the raw material. Following the manual harvest in October, the transformation cycle proceeds by keeping interventions in the cellar to a minimum. In full harmony with a conservative approach, the wine matures through a natural ageing process and reaches its final expression without the addition of fining agents or undergoing filtration. This choice preserves its integrity, making any presence of natural sediment a tangible sign of the evolution and complete authenticity of the product.

This is an area of rare majestic beauty, with vine-covered hills and castle-topped communities looking across to each other over steep, plunging valleys.
Here, in our beautiful land dedicated to the production of wine, my family have grown grapes and produced wines for at least six generations.
Today I continue to grow the traditional grapes of Le Langhe, dolcetto, barbera and nebbiolo, to produce a range of classic and prestigious wines that are the purest expression of the land from which they are born, Le Langhe. Read more
