Description
What kind of wine it is
Movado Gewürztraminer by Andriano is a still white wine with a deeply aromatic profile, capable of expressing in the glass the essence of the Alto Adige Denomination of Controlled Origin. Made from Gewürztraminer grapes, it offers an intense and layered aromatic structure, where spices harmoniously intertwine with floral notes. On the palate, it reveals a dry and smooth drink, well balanced by a lively acidity and clear mineral hints that prolong its persistence. An elegant and well-defined glass, fermented in steel and matured on fine lees, which tells the story of its origin through a strong varietal identity and a consistently measured sip.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Trentino-Alto Adige, in an area renowned for mountain viticulture where altitudes between 260 and 380 metres ensure an optimal balance between grape ripening and freshness. The vine roots delve into clay soils on limestone rock, enriched by veins of red earth and layers of white dolomitic stone. This unique geological composition is directly reflected in the glass, imparting a pronounced savoury and mineral character. The Andriano winery has always enhanced this unique terroir through precise production, deeply connected to the local winemaking tradition.
How it is produced
Vinification begins with fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, a fundamental choice to preserve the aromatic richness and purity of the fruit. Subsequently, the wine matures on fine lees for six months, still in steel, gaining greater roundness and solid flavour stability without the use of wood. In the glass, it appears a pale straw yellow and releases a broad aromatic spectrum ranging from lychee to mango, enriched by touches of honeysuckle, clove and rose petal. The tasting is distinguished by a rounded and persistent finish, sealing a dry, fresh and distinctly varietal sip.

Today the strengths of the two wine estates are combined and yet clearly distinct from each other. With its outstanding sites, Cantina Andriano stands for constancy, underpinned by the historic achievement of the Andriano winegrowers for wines like Lagrein, which was one of the first to be aged in barriques here.
On the basis of a consistent commitment to quality and a strong focus on terroir, which had already been a successful recipe in Terlano, Cantina Andriano continues to develop step by step. The winery now looks to the future from a position of strength and can be proud of its identity and standard of quality. They have their roots in unique limestone-rich soils, a climate that is quite different from that of Terlano, and grape varieties ideally suited to these parameters.
That forms the foundation for the distinctive Andriano taste and identity. Read more
