Description
What kind of wine it is
Camossi Franciacorta Extra Brut is a sparkling wine with a clear and defined profile. The result of a balanced blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, it is crafted using the Traditional Method, revealing a straw yellow hue crossed by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, fruity notes emerge, intertwined with light mineral nuances. The palate is precise, fresh, dry and enveloping, with a long finish. Thanks to its marked balance, it pairs harmoniously with starters, shellfish, sushi, fried fish and cheeses.
Where it comes from
This sparkling wine is produced in Lombardy, in the areas of Erbusco, Paratico and Provaglio d’Iseo, at the heart of Franciacorta. Production is overseen by Camossi, who carefully manage their own vineyards. The vines take root in morainic soils, a key geological composition that enriches the bouquet with a distinct mineral note. The local microclimate works in constant synergy with the soil, encouraging perfect grape ripening and giving the wine a harmonious structure, fully faithful to the identity of the region.
How it is produced
Winemaking follows strict procedures in the cellar, standing out for the use of the Solo Uva method. This particular winemaking technique uses only the sugars naturally present in the grapes throughout the entire vinification and refermentation process. The absence of added sugars ensures a pure expression of the grape varieties and a deeply authentic character. The Traditional Method further shapes the wine, imparting lively freshness and an Extra Brut dosage that enhances its linear taste profile. To fully appreciate its qualities, it is recommended to serve at a temperature between 6 and 8 °C.
History and Curiosities
Born in Erbusco from the passion of Claudio and Dario Camossi, this Franciacorta DOCG is the result of twenty-four hectares of Lombard excellence. The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, grown on selected morainic soils, are vinified following the exclusive Solo Uva method, which involves using only the natural sugars from the grapes. This Metodo Classico Extra Brut stands out for its fine and persistent perlage, able to enhance the authenticity of the region through delicate mineral notes and a dry, fresh and enveloping sip.
