Description
What type of wine it is
The Caldaro Pinot Nero Riserva Saltner from Kaltern Caldaro is a still red wine with the Alto Adige appellation. Produced exclusively with Pinot Noir grapes, it represents an elegant and structured expression of the regional viticultural territory. The aromatic profile is dominated by fruity hints of cherry, raspberry and blackberry, enriched by a spicy background and delicate smoky notes. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious texture, with soft and expressive tannins accompanied by a slight freshness, supported by long ageing in oak barrels.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the hillside vineyards located around Lake Caldaro, in a highly suitable area of Trentino Alto Adige. The terroir is characterised by limestone soils enriched with gravel, with a clay-sandy matrix.
How it is produced
The production process aims to enhance the natural qualities of the variety through careful vinification. After harvesting and fermentation, the wine undergoes a total maturation period of thirty-six months. About eighteen months take place within oak barrels, an essential step to soften the tannic structure and expand the aromatic bouquet. The production cycle is completed with a prolonged final rest in the cellar, ensuring the harmonious integration of all its components before being presented to the public.
