Description
What kind of wine it is
Brovia's Barolo is a still red wine that expresses the authentic identity of the Nebbiolo grape. Characterised by a pale ruby red colour, it offers a bouquet intertwining ripe plum, cherry jam and dried red flowers. In the glass, notes of black pepper and deep toasted hints of coffee and tobacco develop. On the palate, it reveals a full body, balanced by refined and pronounced tannins. Its remarkable ageing potential ensures a long evolution over time. It is best enjoyed paired with red meats, game and mature cheeses, especially if served after decanting.
Where it comes from
Born in Piedmont, between the municipalities of Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d’Alba, this wine is a tribute to the excellence of Barolo. Brovia manages its own vineyards following a biological and sustainable approach. The grapes come from renowned estate crus such as Rocche, Villero, Garblèt Sue’, Ca’Mia and Brea, selected for the unique nuances of their soils. The production philosophy is entirely focused on the Piedmontese terroir, allowing the vines to express a defined personality, aimed at the utmost pursuit of balance and longevity.
How it is produced
The production process begins with gentle pressing to respect the integrity of the Nebbiolo. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, with macerations aimed at extracting colour and aromas. After natural stabilisation, the wine matures in Slavonian and French oak barrels, where it acquires its harmonious structure. To preserve every organoleptic component, the wine is bottled without filtration. A prolonged ageing at a constant temperature and protected from light consolidates its complex aromatic profile, preparing it perfectly for tasting.
History and Curiosities
Founded in 1863, the Brovia winery represents a Piedmontese excellence that has passed down its winemaking vocation from generation to generation. Revived in 1953 with a focus on the highest quality, the estate is now run by Elena, Cristina and the oenologist Alex Sanchez. Managing around 15 hectares of renowned vineyards such as Rocche, Villero and Ca’ Mia under organic and sustainable practices, the company faithfully enhances the local terroir. This rigorous dedication gives rise to an intense Barolo DOCG, celebrated for its elegance, balance and extraordinary longevity.

The Winery had been set up as far back as 1863 and is settled in Castiglione Falletto. Paying always attention to the importance of the "terroir", with time and an uncompromising attitude to the selection of the finest vineyards in Langa, the family has been able to acquire great vineyards in the Barolo growing area: Rocche, Villero and Garblèt Sue’ in Castiglione Falletto and Ca’Mia and Brea in Serralunga d’Alba.
Thus, the philosophy of the Winery is to propose great personality Barolos (as with the other wines produced), all made in the same way, but with very specific and clean characteristics, always different among them; Barolos that faithfully reflect the richness of our great Langa vineyards."
