Description
What kind of wine it is
Champagne Blanc de Noirs Brut by Brigandat is a distinctive expression of the Champagne region. Made from Pinot Noir grapes, it displays a bright straw yellow colour with greenish highlights. On the nose, it reveals notes of lime and lemon zest, followed by toasted hazelnut and lemon cream that emerge with aeration. On the palate, it offers a creamy density of white-fleshed fruit, balanced by taut acidity and a fine perlage. The sip finishes with a pronounced chalky minerality and delicate iodine hints, ensuring excellent ageing potential.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the village of Channes, in the Champagne region. The vines grow on calcareous-clay soils of Kimmeridgian origin, which give the wine structural tension and a precise mineral character. The vineyard management relies on sustainable and organic practices, aimed at respecting the ecosystem. Since 2002, the land has been worked exclusively with a plough to preserve its vitality, encouraging deep root development that ensures a clear territorial identity.
How it is produced
Production involves manual harvesting to select the best bunches. Vinification strictly follows the Traditional Method, with three years of ageing on the lees in the bottle. This maturation enriches the texture, making the perlage delicate and integrating the fruity aromas with elegant hazelnut nuances. Bottled with a Brut dosage, it retains marked freshness, making it versatile for enhancing light starters or accompanying the entire meal with great harmony.
History and Curiosities
Produced in the picturesque village of Channes, Pierre Brigandat's Champagne Brut Blanc de Noirs showcases the excellence of pure Pinot Noir. This wine is the result of a meticulous manual harvest and sustainable farming practices, carried out on prized Kimmeridgian soils still worked with a plough. The winemaking follows the traditional method and culminates in 3 years of ageing on the lees, which gives the palate a creamy and enveloping density. A label true to tradition, appreciated for its consistent quality and vibrant minerality.

Like my father before me, the passion for champagne has become a real vocation. Since 2002, I have taken over the reins of the estate and since 2013 I have been working with Cendrine, my wife, to develop the production and marketing of Pierre Brigandat champagnes.
With rigour and passion, we cultivate two noble grape varieties: pinot noir and chardonnay, on an 8-hectare vineyard. We respect the environment (the soil has been worked with a plough since 2002) and the people. We constantly seek to honour our values through the conception of exceptional products, conceived in a rich and generous territory.
Today, no less than 7 champagnes and a Coteaux Champenois can be found in our online shop or directly in the cellar, during a tasting. (Bertrand Brigandat) Read more
