Description
What kind of wine it is
Bric Cenciurio Barolo Coste di Rose is a still red wine that offers an authentic interpretation of the Nebbiolo grape variety. An expression of the renowned Barolo area, it stands out for its intense aromatic profile, enriched with notes of dark fruit, leather and spices. On the palate, it reveals an initially austere character, typical of its youth, which evolves over time to show a vibrant freshness and profound complexity. The structure of this wine promises remarkable longevity, estimated between ten and fifteen years. To best appreciate its nuances, it is recommended to decant for about an hour and serve at a temperature between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Piedmont, at the heart of the renowned Coste di Rose vineyard, located a short distance from the village of Barolo. The plot enjoys a sheltered position and a cooler exposure, protected from the summer heat by a woodland crowning the hill. The vines sink their roots into deep, compact soils, rich in organic matter. The particular soil structure encourages the plants to seek nutrients in the deepest layers, giving a distinctive territorial signature. Bric Cenciurio, a family-run business founded in 1996, tends these vineyards through manual management and a constant commitment to biodiversity.
How it is produced
Production follows the principles of careful vinification, respecting the natural rhythms and ripening times of the grapes. Every stage of the process aims to preserve the integrity of the Nebbiolo, enhancing the purity of the fruit and ensuring a balanced evolution. At the table, the rigorous elegance of this wine calls for robust pairings. It pairs perfectly with red meats and pork, enhancing game-based recipes. The well-defined tannic structure and pronounced acidity also find an ideal balance when matched with mature cheeses with bold flavours.

Starting from here, in 1990 Franco Pittatore and his brother-in-law Carlo Sacchetto decided to merge their properties in Barolo and Roero, to give life to their dream: producing traditional high-quality wines. A dream, but also a solid project, carried out today by Franco's sons, Alessandro and Alberto, in their estate vineyards in Barolo, Novello, Castellinaldo, and Magliano Alfieri.
Their commitment to keeping alive the good agricultural practices learned from their ancestors, further improved by their oenological studies and continuous research, translates into good practices aimed to safeguard the natural cycles of the land.
Strictly manual labor, carried out with the same care and attention in each vineyard, a part of the land set aside to natural forest, thus renouncing to increase the production in favor of maintaining great biodiversity and an ideal microclimate, are the concrete signs of a commitment that continues in the cellar, with the maximum respect for the grapes and their natural times.
