Description
What type of wine it is
Barolo Bric Cenciurio is a still red wine with a Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin (DOCG) from Piedmont, made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. In the glass, it reveals a classic red colour, accompanied by precise hints of dark fruit that anticipate a well-balanced sip. On the palate, the structured tannic texture supports a prolonged flavour persistence, closing with a harmonious finish. This sensory profile makes it ideal for pairing with succulent red meat dishes, game and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
The roots of this red wine lie in the renowned historical production area of Barolo, in Piedmont. The expression in the glass comes from a careful blend of grapes from vineyards located at different altitudes and with various exposures. This agronomic diversity of the soils guarantees a complex variety of nuances, which integrate into a sincere interpretation of the terroir. Bottling takes place directly at the source, protecting the viticultural identity and the authenticity of a landscape with unique characteristics.
How it is produced
The production process involves a careful harvest of the grapes followed by the fermentation phase. Subsequently, the wine undergoes a long period of ageing in large casks, an essential step that shapes the tannins and stabilises the flavour balance, without altering the character of the Nebbiolo. This maturation ensures a solid potential for evolution in the cellar. To fully appreciate its sensory profile, decanting for approximately one hour before serving is recommended, in order to enhance its intensity.
History and interesting facts
Founded in 1996, the family-run Bric Cenciurio winery celebrates Piedmont by producing a Barolo DOCG true to its historical area of origin. Under the guidance of oenologist Alessandro Pittatore and with full respect for biodiversity, grapes grown at various altitudes come together in a harmonious blend. Ageing in large barrels and bottling at source preserve the ancient traditions of the region, enhancing the potential of the 2021 vintage: a commitment to quality rewarded with an impressive 93 points from James Suckling.

Starting from here, in 1990 Franco Pittatore and his brother-in-law Carlo Sacchetto decided to merge their properties in Barolo and Roero, to give life to their dream: producing traditional high-quality wines. A dream, but also a solid project, carried out today by Franco's sons, Alessandro and Alberto, in their estate vineyards in Barolo, Novello, Castellinaldo, and Magliano Alfieri.
Their commitment to keeping alive the good agricultural practices learned from their ancestors, further improved by their oenological studies and continuous research, translates into good practices aimed to safeguard the natural cycles of the land.
Strictly manual labor, carried out with the same care and attention in each vineyard, a part of the land set aside to natural forest, thus renouncing to increase the production in favor of maintaining great biodiversity and an ideal microclimate, are the concrete signs of a commitment that continues in the cellar, with the maximum respect for the grapes and their natural times.
