Description
What kind of wine it is
Brancaia Chianti Classico is a Tuscan red wine that purely expresses the qualities of Sangiovese. Representative of the Chianti Classico region, it stands out for its structured style, characterised by pronounced freshness and acidity. On the nose, it reveals a precise bouquet of ripe fruit, with clear aromas of cherry, black plum, fine spices, chervil and violet. On the palate, it offers vigorous tannins and a persistent finish, making it ideal for pairing with cheese, cured meats and grilled meats.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in the heart of the Radda in Chianti area. The Brancaia vineyards are situated on hills at around 200 metres above sea level, benefiting from a favourable southern exposure. The soils have a balanced profile of sand, clay and silt, providing optimal agronomic conditions for the vine. These environmental and geological factors give the wine a defined territorial character, enhancing the natural structure of the grape variety.
How it is produced
Production begins with a rigorous manual harvest from non-irrigated vineyards. Agronomic management follows the principles of integrated production, limiting the use of fertilisers and employing grassing between the rows to preserve the biological balance of the environment. Vinification involves fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. Ageing for at least 12 months takes place in both steel and concrete tanks, preserving the varietal integrity of the Sangiovese until bottling.
