Description
What kind of wine it is
Franco Ziliani Franciacorta Riserva by Berlucchi is a Dosaggio Zero made from Chardonnay. True to the Franciacorta designation, this wine is produced using the Traditional Method, ensuring great finesse and technical precision. In the glass, it displays an intense straw yellow colour with golden highlights, enhanced by a very fine perlage and abundant mousse. On the palate, it reveals a deep structure, where freshness and lively savouriness blend perfectly with balanced acidity, guaranteeing a persistent finish and remarkable longevity.
Where it comes from
The grapes for this wine come from the Arzelle parcel in Borgonato, historically considered the heart of the Franciacorta region. The vineyard is cultivated with high planting density and low yields, ideal for obtaining fruit with maximum aromatic expression. Strict selection of the bunches and extremely low juice yields define the clarity of flavour in this label. Dedicated to the visionary Franco Ziliani, the wine is part of Berlucchi's reserve collection, showcasing in every glass the terroir's vocation and viticulture of the highest precision.
How it is produced
Vinification begins with gentle pressing to extract only the heart of the free-run must. The first fermentation takes place in stainless steel, while a carefully selected portion matures for six months in oak barrels in contact with the lees. After creating the blend, the secondary fermentation occurs in the bottle according to the rules of the Traditional Method. A long period of ageing on the lees develops a complex bouquet of yellow-fleshed fruit, acacia flowers and candied citron. The absence of sugars after disgorgement defines this Dosaggio Zero, ideal for accompanying elaborate starters, refined fish dishes and medium-aged cheeses.
History and Curiosities
Dedicated to the visionary Franco Ziliani, this Franciacorta embodies the theme “Art is timeless”. This exclusive limited edition is crafted from the finest Chardonnay grapes from the Arzelle plot in Borgonato, expressing absolute purity. Enhanced by a rare sculptural brass label, the cuvée matures majestically on the lees for almost eleven years. This exceptional ageing, combined with extremely low yields and the elegant Dosaggio Zero, transforms each bottle into a true oenological rarity, ideal for celebrating beauty that defies time.
