Description
What kind of wine is it
The Champagne Grand Cru Brut Nature by Benoit Lahaye is a refined sparkling wine, created from a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes grown using biodynamic methods. Crafted according to the Traditional Method, this zero dosage wine appears in the glass with a straw yellow hue and a fine perlage. On the nose, it offers fruity aromas enhanced by pronounced mineral notes, leading to an elegant, dry and persistent palate. Its harmonious structure demonstrates remarkable palate clarity, making it perfect for medium-term ageing.
Where does it come from
This wine originates in the Champagne region of France, from Benoit Lahaye’s vineyards which cover around four and a half hectares. The vines take root in prestigious areas located among the villages of Bouzy, Ambonnay, Voipreux and Tauxières, all awarded the Grand Cru classification. This territorial variety allows for the creation of a harmonious blend, capable of expressing the nuances of each plot at their best. The sustainable agricultural approach gives the wine a profound and well-defined sense of place.
How is it produced
Vinification follows the steps of the Traditional Method, which involves a strict secondary fermentation in the bottle. Starting from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, the ageing on the lees develops an extremely fine perlage and a complex flavour profile. The decision to offer a Brut Nature excludes any form of dosage, resulting in an authentic profile that enhances the freshness and fruity qualities of the harvest. Served chilled, this wine pairs beautifully with shellfish, lean fish, cheeses and starters.
