Description
What kind of wine it is
This elegant Franciacorta stands out for its profound sensory profile. Crafted from a meticulous blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, it displays a brilliant brightness enhanced by an exquisitely fine perlage. On the nose, it offers clear notes of hawthorn, interwoven with hints of white fruit, candied citrus, balsamic bay leaf and subtle pastry nuances. On the palate, it reveals a creamy texture, with a long finish reminiscent of yellow jam and incense. It is a rigorous example produced according to the Traditional Method, ideal for accompanying refined starters, raw shellfish and herb risottos.
Where it comes from
The origins of this excellence are rooted in Lombardy, among the hills of Erbusco. The vineyards selected by Bellavista are cultivated using the Guyot system and benefit from optimal exposure from south to south-east. The vines grow at an altitude between 180 and 350 metres, conditions that ensure perfect sunlight. The rigorous selection of individual plots allows the terroir of origin to be enhanced, giving the grapes excellent expressiveness and a clear gustatory dynamic.
How it is produced
Production begins with a careful selection of the grape bunches. The first fermentation of the base wines takes place in steel tanks and, in part, in small French oak barrels, an essential step in defining the aromatic structure. After blending, the prise de mousse occurs, carried out by refermentation in the bottle as required by the Traditional Method. The patient ageing on the lees lasts for at least thirty-six months, allowing the wine to develop a complex creamy texture and a persistence of great elegance.
History and Curiosities
Dedicated to the renowned temple of opera, the cuvée Bellavista Franciacorta Teatro alla Scala Brut 2021 is the prestigious honorary wine of the winery. The result of a rigorous selection of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this limited edition fully reflects the character of the vintage. The patient 36-month maturation on the lees imparts an aristocratic structure and extraordinary ageing potential. Highly acclaimed by critics, this Traditional Method offers a sip of profound elegance and complexity, celebrating the great excellence of Italian winemaking.
