Description
What kind of wine it is
Bellavista's Franciacorta Extra Brut is a rigorous Traditional Method sparkling wine, created from a meticulous blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. In the glass, it displays a crystalline hue, enlivened by an extremely fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet is clear and precise, characterised by notes of yellow citrus fruits, fresh ginger and beeswax, enriched by pronounced mineral nuances. On the palate, it expresses vibrancy and a pleasant creaminess, releasing hints of citron, white plum and aromatic herbs that lead the sip towards a mineral finish of great depth.
Where it comes from
This wine is produced in Lombardy, in the heart of Franciacorta, from vines with an average age of around thirty years. The grapes come from sixty different vineyards that give rise to ninety-one separate selections, including historic plots such as Favento, Uccellanda, Rocchetta and Casotte. The high planting density and low yields ensure the utmost expression of the terroir. The fragmentation of the vineyards allows for the harvesting of grapes with great character, translating the natural viticultural vocation of the soil into a wine with a distinct profile.
How it is produced
Production begins with a rigorous manual harvest, followed by the extraction of only the free-run must to preserve the purity of the juice. The prise de mousse takes place according to the slow steps of the Traditional Method, completed by manual riddling. The wine then matures for about thirty months on the lees, essential for imparting structure and complexity. The skilful use of wood enriches the sensory profile: part of the base wines and reserves mature in barrels, giving the blend a profound and harmonious balance.
History and Curiosities
Born from a deep passion for artisanal excellence, Bellavista signs this prestigious Franciacorta DOCG. The Alma Assemblage Extra Brut is the emblematic expression of the winery, skilfully created by blending grapes from as many as ninety-one different plots. Its superior quality lies in the rigorous manual harvest and the addition of fine reserve wines matured in wood. The slow rest of thirty months on the lees gives the glass profound complexity and extremely fine bubbles, offering a dynamic, enveloping taste with extraordinary mineral harmony.
