Description
What kind of wine is it
Belisario Pecorino is a still white wine with a straw yellow colour, an authentic expression of the native Pecorino grape variety. Produced in the Terre di Chieti, this wine offers clear floral aromas on the nose, which blend harmoniously with delicate hints of tropical fruit. On the palate, it is light and easy to drink, characterised by a light body and a pronounced acidity that keeps each sip fresh, balanced, and with an extremely clean finish.
Where does it come from
The grapes come from hillside vineyards located between Rocca San Giovanni and Offida, cultivated with excellent southern exposure. The vines grow at an altitude between two hundred and three hundred metres above sea level, rooted in loose soil that ensures optimal natural drainage. Careful management of the rows encourages balanced plant growth, creating the ideal conditions for regular ripening and giving the wine its characteristic acidic tension.
How is it produced
The harvest takes place between the end of August and the beginning of September, starting a careful process of white vinification with gentle vacuum pressing. Fermentation takes place at a strictly controlled temperature for about twenty days, preserving the aromatic integrity of the must. The wine then undergoes maturation in steel for several months, a technical choice aimed at enhancing the natural aromatic profile and maintaining the freshness of flavour until tasting.
History and Curiosities
