Description

What kind of wine is it

La Pettegola by Banfi is a still white wine with Indicazione Geografica Tipica from Tuscany, made from Vermentino grapes and matured in stainless steel. On the palate, its full structure is balanced by a pronounced acidity that gives vibrancy to each sip. The bouquet reveals intense citrus and yellow peach aromas, delicately interwoven with white flowers and the typical scents of the Mediterranean scrub. This aromatic harmony imparts a savoury freshness and balance, leading to a delightfully persistent fruity finish.

Where does it come from

This Vermentino by Banfi originates in the Maremma, the bright coastal area of Tuscany. The moderating influence of the sea gives the grapes a distinct territorial identity, transferring into the glass the essence of the sun-drenched land where they ripen. The proximity to the coast results in a lively character and a marked saline note, enriched by herbaceous nuances reminiscent of the local flora.

How is it produced

Production begins with a very gentle pressing of the grapes, essential for extracting only the most elegant aromatic precursors. The must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about two weeks, encouraging the development of clean, varietal aromas. The wine completes its journey with a three-month maturation in stainless steel on fine lees, a crucial practice to enhance smoothness on the palate and preserve aromatic precision.

Founded in 1978 by the vision of Italian-American brothers John and Harry Mariani, Banfi represents a marriage of winemaking passion and technological innovation. Through collaboration with Ezio Rivella, one of Italy's most eminent winemakers, the land purchased in Montalcino was transformed into a crucible of quality and potential. The acquisition of the historic Piedmontese winery Bruzzone subsequently further enriched the portfolio, integrating the sparkling wine tradition of Piedmont into the Banfi world.

Always pioneers, we value research and people, respecting the territories in which we work. For a better wine world. We see a global and connected world, where differences are wealth. The products of our land, to be defended and enhanced, are the best expression of human labor and ingenuity.
