Description
What type of wine it is
Aurore Casanova's Grand Cru Union Champagne is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. It presents with a straw-yellow colour with golden highlights, enlivened by a fine and persistent perlage and a creamy mousse. The aromatic bouquet opens with notes of ripe citrus fruits, yellow apple and white flowers, enriched by light touches of small red berries, chalk and fine pastry. Compared to a Blanc de Blancs, it expresses greater structure and excellent mineral tension that perfectly balances the volume, closing with a savoury and chalky finish.
Where it comes from
This Champagne originates in the famous Champagne region.
How it is produced
Production strictly follows the Traditional Method, with a second fermentation in the bottle that enhances its finesse. The Extra Brut dosage ensures a clean, crisp and dry sip. The high quality of this Champagne is confirmed by a score of 91 Robert Parker points. It is already harmonious at the time of serving and does not require decanting.

It is based on unique terroirs that will be certified organic in 2023: Puisieulx in the Montagne de Reims: mainly Pinot Noirs (from massal selection or clones) and Chardonnays that grow on silt resting on hard limestone.
Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger in the Côte des Blancs: 22 plots with almost as many exposures! What they have in common, however, is Chardonnay grown on chalky subsoil with fine brown earth or chalky colluvium on the surface.
Champvoisy in the Marne Valley: a brown Marne soil on hard limestone that allows the Meunier to express itself.
This diversity of terroirs and grape varieties is interpreted thanks to the observation and contemplation that guide Aurore and JB both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Read more
