Description
What kind of wine it is
The Trento Blanc de Noirs Brut by Altemasi is a refined sparkling wine that enhances the intensity of Pinot Noir vinified as a white wine. Produced following the prestigious Traditional Method, it reveals itself in the glass with a straw yellow colour and a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, a complex bouquet emerges, where fragrant notes of peach intertwine with hints of almond, hazelnut and white chocolate. On the palate, it is enveloping and balanced, characterised by a long persistence that culminates in a mineral finish, enriched by nuances of redcurrant and candied citrus peel.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from vineyards located in Trentino, between the slopes of the Valle di Cembra and the limestone alluvial fans that characterise the Trento area. These high hillside vineyards, situated between 450 and 600 metres above sea level, grow on fluvioglacial soils rich in gravel, which give the wine a vibrant energy. The typically mountainous climate favours marked temperature variations between day and night, ensuring optimal ripening and preserving the natural acidity necessary for a sparkling wine of great character.
How it is produced
The creation of this sparkling wine begins with a manual harvest, aimed at preserving the integrity of each bunch. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature to maintain the aromatic purity of the fruit. The second fermentation occurs in the bottle, as required by the Traditional Method, followed by ageing on the lees for over thirty-six months, which shapes its structure and finesse. The process ends with a minimal dosage at disgorgement, which defines its Brut style and enhances the overall balance of the sip.
History and Curiosities
Born among the slopes of the Cembra Valley and the hills of Trento, this Blanc de Noirs Trentodoc encapsulates the authentic essence of mountain bubbles. Made from fine Pinot Noir grapes hand-picked at high altitude, this wine draws its vibrant character from fluvioglacial soils. The long maturation according to the Traditional Method, enhanced by significant temperature variations and a rest of over 36 months on the lees, preserves its excellent natural acidity, giving the glass extraordinary harmony and a continuous and refined perlage.
