Description
What kind of wine is it
Alois Lageder Müller Thurgau is an organic white wine that immediately expresses the varietal character of Müller Thurgau. Produced in Trentino Alto Adige within the Vigneti delle Dolomiti denomination, it appears in the glass with a pale straw yellow colour and greenish highlights. The aromatic profile is marked by youthful aromas of green apple, enriched with delicate white floral notes and a subtle spicy hint of clove. On the palate, it reveals itself as a dry and elegant wine, characterised by a slender body and a pleasant liveliness that leads the sip towards a fresh finish with an almond note.
Where does it come from
The grapes come from the family vineyards located in the municipality of Magrè, in the Unterland area. The vines benefit from a cool climate and grow at an altitude between 620 and 690 metres, environmental conditions that favour the natural gustatory tension and aromatic fragrance of the grapes. The roots sink into soils rich in pebbles, sand and schist: a particular mineral composition that gives the wine its typical dry and linear expression. The agronomic management strictly follows the principles of certified biodynamic agriculture, fully respecting the natural cycles of the land.
How is it produced
Vinification involves temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. To preserve its authenticity and expressive clarity, the wine undergoes no filtration. Subsequently, maturation continues with ageing on fine lees for about four months, again in steel, thus maintaining the light structure and lively freshness of the original fruit. This process makes it ideal for pairing with vegetarian dishes and shellfish, and it also harmonises perfectly with cheeses and white fish dishes thanks to its dry finish.
History and Curiosities
Founded in 1823, the Alois Lageder winery cultivates this Müller-Thurgau in the historic family vineyards in Trentino-Alto Adige. Born from the successful cross between Riesling and Madeleine Royale, the grape variety thrives thanks to the cool climate and high altitudes, ranging between 620 and 690 metres. The focus on the environment is reflected in certified biodynamic agriculture, free from synthetic pesticides to respect natural cycles. An authentic expression of the Vineyards of the Dolomites, capable of combining the long family tradition with complete ecological sustainability.
