Description
What kind of wine it is
Al Passo del Leone Bianco is a still white wine with a fascinating aromatic profile, an expression of the Alois Lageder winery. This biodynamic blend combines the elegance of Müller Thurgau, Pinot Grigio, Moscato and Gewürztraminer, grown in the setting of the Dolomiti Vineyards. In the glass, it appears clear, a pale straw yellow with greenish highlights. The palate is dry, juicy and mineral, supported by vibrant freshness and an agile structure. The bouquet reveals notes of elderflower, intertwined with herbal hints, spicy accents and subtle touches of cocoa, finishing with caramel nuances for a balanced and satisfying drink.
Where it comes from
The grapes originate from the Magrè area in Alto Adige, where the microclimate is shaped by a strong Alpine influence. The vineyards, located at high altitudes, benefit from conditions that ensure excellent aromatic definition. The gravelly and sandy soils, characterised by a high limestone content, give the wine a typical savoury imprint and a dry texture. The management of the rows follows the principles of certified Demeter organic and biodynamic agriculture, promoting local biodiversity through the use of natural preparations and the rejection of synthetic chemicals, to reflect the pure essence of the territory in the glass.
How it is produced
Vinification follows an essential approach, in harmony with Alois Lageder's holistic vision. The must undergoes spontaneous fermentation in steel, relying exclusively on indigenous yeasts to preserve varietal purity. This is followed by ageing on fine lees for about four months, always in steel tanks. This process enriches the gustatory complexity while maintaining the freshness of the palate. The result is a vegan wine ready to drink, capable of expressing the vertical and clear character typical of mountain viticulture.
History and Curiosities
