Description
What kind of wine it is
The Valpolicella Classico from Allegrini is a Venetian red that elegantly expresses its terroir. This blend is made from Corvina Veronese, Rondinella and Molinara grapes. In the glass, it offers clear fruity notes of morello cherry and strawberry with a delicate hint of violet. On the palate, it reveals a medium body supported by lively acidity and well-integrated tannins, making it ideal for Mediterranean cuisine.
Where it comes from
The grapes for this wine are grown on the prestigious hills of Fumane, particularly in parcels located on Monte dei Galli and in the areas of Sant’Ambrogio and San Pietro in Cariano. The vineyards are situated at an altitude between 180 and 280 metres, enjoying a favourable south-eastern exposure. This privileged position, combined with mixed soils rich in clay and limestone, ensures consistent ripening and gives the wine a balanced flavour profile. The local microclimate, characterised by hot summers and temperature variations in September, encourages the development of a distinct aromatic expression and preserves excellent freshness in the fruit.
How it is produced
The production of this red begins with a rigorous manual harvest carried out in September, followed by gentle crushing of the bunches. The must undergoes alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks for about nine days. Afterwards, to preserve the integrity of the fruit and the natural precision of the aromas, the wine matures exclusively through careful ageing in steel. This technical choice results in a glass with a smooth and elegant sip, capable of enhancing the notes of red fruits, subtle spicy nuances and the great drinkability that distinguishes this Venetian red.

Belonging to the family of the same name since the 16th century, the Allegrini winery is located in the Valpolicella Classica area: in particular, it is situated where vines such as corvina, molinara and rondinella give life to what are considered some of the best red wines of the Peninsula. xtraWine offers numerous bottles of Allegrini Allegrini wines that stand out for their refinement and elegance, very pleasant and capable of enveloping you with every sip, conquering even the most demanding palates. This is due to continuous improvements in production such as the introduction of the use of barriques alongside the traditional large barrels, and even a reduction in the ageing period so as not to alter too much the quality of the grapes used.
Not only Valpolicella, on xtraWine you can find Allegrini wines such as Amarone, Valpolicella and Recioto. Read more
