Description
What kind of wine it is
Albino Rocca Langhe Nebbiolo Rosso di Rocca is a red wine from Piedmont with a fresh and fragrant profile. This blend combines Nebbiolo and Cabernet Franc grapes, offering an immediately enjoyable sip. On the nose, clear aromas of small red fruits and fresh flowers emerge, while on the palate it stands out for its pleasant savouriness. Its smooth style makes it extremely versatile at the table, ensuring a ready and elegant drink.
Where it comes from
The grapes are grown on the hills of Castagnito and Magliano Alfieri, with additional contribution from vineyards located in Barbaresco. The project enhances historic vines planted between 1967 and 2002, rooted in marl-based soils composed of limestone mixed with sand, which give the wine its typical flavour profile. The exposures, mainly oriented from east to west, favour ideal ripening of the bunches.
How it is produced
The vinification is designed to enhance the aromatic purity of the Langhe. After fermentation of Nebbiolo and Cabernet Franc, the wine rests through maturation in steel for several months. This precise technical choice, which excludes the use of wood, keeps the vibrancy of the original fruit intact. The result is a smooth structure, perfect for immediate consumption that does not require decanting.
History and Curiosities
The result of acquiring a vineyard in Magliano Alfieri in 2016, Langhe Nebbiolo ‘Rosso di Rocca’ skilfully combines Nebbiolo and Cabernet Franc grapes. The vines, grown on prized marl soils between Castagnito and Barbaresco, lend this red wine extraordinary elegance. Careful maturation in steel preserves the vibrancy of the fruit and delicate floral aromas. Perfect for convivial moments, it offers the palate a pleasant savouriness and excellent drinkability, enhancing the authenticity of the Piedmontese region.

Thanks to the inheritance of some of our most precious vineyards in the 1960’s our grandfather was able to start what is now our winery Albino Rocca. Albino’s hard work and his strong support of our father Angelo Rocca laid the foundation that created a family winemaking tradition that has grown internationally over the years.
Our history has been built together, year by year. First through the gradual acquisition of vineyards and the production of not only Nebbiolo, but also Dolcetto and Barbera in addition to our continuous effort to evolve the quality of our Barbaresco – which starts in the vineyards and continues in the cellar.
