Description

What kind of wine it is

Abate Nero Trento Rosé Brut is a sparkling wine that faithfully reflects the characteristics of Pinot Noir, a grape variety used in purity. Crafted according to the principles of the Traditional Method, it stands out for its pale pink colour enhanced by antique reflections. The sensory profile is characterised by a fine and persistent perlage, introducing a dry, elegant sip with excellent structure. Its harmony makes it a versatile companion, able to gracefully enhance a variety of culinary preparations.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in Trentino Alto Adige, in the heart of the Trento area, a region renowned for high-altitude sparkling wine production. The Abate Nero winery, active since the early seventies, operates with an artisanal spirit, carefully overseeing every stage of production by hand. The deep connection with the surrounding environment allows for the harvesting of prized grapes, transforming them into an authentic expression of Trento and its great winemaking tradition.

How it is produced

Production begins with careful harvesting and gentle pressing of the bunches, followed by the first fermentation in steel tanks. The wine then undergoes the bottle refermentation typical of the Traditional Method, resting on the lees for at least eighteen months. This maturation imparts fragrant and fruity aromas, with clear notes of cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry. On the palate, a delicate yeast note emerges, perfect to enjoy at a serving temperature recommended between six and eight degrees.

History and Curiosities

Born in 1973 in Trentino from the intuition of Luciano Lunelli, Abate Nero Trento Rosé Brut embodies the excellence of sparkling wine tradition. The name pays homage to the historic figure considered the inventor of Champagne, reflecting an unwavering dedication to the Traditional Method. Thanks to meticulous artisanal craftsmanship, this refined wine made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes matures on the lees for at least 18 months. The result fully honours the prestigious Trento DOC designation, offering a fine and persistent perlage combined with excellent balance on the palate.

Abate Nero, whose name evokes the figure of the French abbot considered to be the ‘father’ of Champagne, was born in the early 1970s from the commitment of a few friends, including Luciano Lunelli, all linked to the agronomic and wine sector, determined to develop more and more singular, good, prestigious ‘bubbles’.

Patience is at home here, the wine rests on the lees for frothing much longer than usual. Don't be surprised, therefore, if you find dates on the label that date back a few decades. Every stage is manual, for direct control of every single bottle: only in this way does Abate Nero achieve its charm.
