Description

White wine produced only with Greco grapes coming from 3 different vineyards located in 3 different towns of the province of Avellino: Montefusco, Tufo and Altavilla Irpina. The grapes are harvested by hand and carried to the cellar in small boxes to avoid crushing them. The grapes are subjected to gentle crushing of whole bunches to get the free-run juice. Wine making and ageing on fine lees lasts 4 months and takes place in stainless steel tanks.

The winery Villa Raiano started as an ambitious project of the Basso family in 1996, that always believed in the potential of such an extraordinary area like Irpinia, Campania, South Italy. The winery was born in the village of Raiano, a hamlet in the heart of Irpinia, from which it takes its name. After 13 years of continuous growth and research, the new winery, designed and built according to the most modern technological and architectural criteria, was built on the top of a hill 600 metres above sea level, in the municipality of San Michele di Serino (AV). Villa Raiano produces wines from only indigenous Campania vines, Greco di Tufo, Fiano di Avellino, Aglianico di Taurasi and Falanghina, all vinified in purity, to preserve the characteristics of each individual vine.

All the people involved in the company pay great attention to the rational management of the vineyards and take the utmost care in all phases of the cellar.
