Description

Complex, deep and indulgent, the Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve has taken its time and it doesn't matter who knows it. It is with Brut Rèserve that the maison has expressed the quintessence of its style. Particularly recognisable, this cuvée is the result of a unique blend that can be summed up with a single equation: 60/40/10: one third of each variety (Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) are vinified in stainless steel tanks. Forty per cent reserve wine is used, equally divided between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, to ensure the complexity and indulgence of Brut Réserve.

The texture is reminiscent of a crisp layer of nougatine on a velvety cream pastry, filled with plump red plums and ripe cherries. The selection of reserve wines gives the wine lushness. The finish unveils notes of praline and vanilla.

From this winery
  • Start up year: 1851
Charles Heidsieck is a man of his time: visionary and innovative. In 1851 he founded the Maison de Champagne, which still has its name today, 160 years since the house was created, and maintains that spirit of communication, courage, and the pursuit of excellence that distinguishes its founder.
Charles's ambitions resounded in a lively world in an age of great discoveries and advances. Sure of the quality of his champagne, he was one of those guided by a clear vision and quickly became one of the most influential champagne ambassadors in the world. From America, where he conquered the New World becoming the legendary "Champagne Charlie", passing through the heart of the European Courts to Russia.
Charles Heidsieck champagne has an unmistakable signature. The style, recognizable amongst all, is characterized by a high proportion of reserve wines that enriches the cuvée sans année of the Maison, giving a rare and constant balance. Reserve wines represent the richness and uniqueness of Charles Heidsieck champagne, but are also constantly evolving , which master Chef de Caves assembles in a harmonious composition, while preserving intact the peculiarity that is expected from each wine. Selected grapes, together with the original cru, constitute the complexity of the final product. Vinified cru by cru, vine by vine, allows a precise selection of each wine where one carries its touch of depth, the other its softness.
