In the heart of Tuscany lies Il Borro, an ancient medieval village covering more than 1,100 hectares in the Valdarno di Sopra, a valley situated between Pratomagno and the Chianti hills.
Since 1993, the year in which Ferruccio Ferragamo bought the Il Borro estate, the medieval village has undergone a massive renovation to enhance its historical value. Special attention was paid to the redevelopment of the land, replanting the vineyards and tending the centuries-old olive trees.
Today, the estate is managed by two of his children: Salvatore, CEO, and Vittoria, in charge of special projects. Today it is a state-of-the-art farm, totally organic and eco-sustainable since 2015, whose pride lies in its 85 hectares of vineyards and 29 hectares of olive groves. The rest is divided into 272 hectares of forage and farmland, plus 3 hectares reserved for agriculture.
Authenticity, respect for the environment, culture and appreciation of local excellence are the cornerstones of the sustainable philosophy that guides every choice within the estate.
