Description

A great white wine from southern Italian grapes, able to compare with the world’s great white wines; this was the initial project. Thus, in the 1990s, the experiments began with Fiano, an ancient noble variety from Campania. This is how Cometa originated, expressing this extraordinary vine's best original and unique characteristics.

To say Planeta is to say the best Sicilian wine reality.Closely linked to the place where it is located, the Cantina Planeta offers a series of labels of great territorial adherence, truly unique: La Baronia in Capo Milazzo, Dispensa in Menfi, Buonivini at Noto, Feudo di Mezzo on the Mount Etna in Castiglione di Sicilia and Ulmo in Sambuca di Sicilia. These are the places where the Cantine Planeta wineries are located, whose history has been handed down since the XVI century, by no less than 17 generations. It is a project that always keeps its gaze fixed on the past, but immersed in the present with a focus on the future. This is manifested both through the link with the ancient Sicilian winemaking tradition symbolised by indigenous varieties such as: Carricante, Frappato, Grecanico, Nerello mascalese, Moscato di Noto and Nero d'Avola, and by international varieties such as Merlot, Chardonnay and Syrah.Xtrawine offers you a wide range of Planeta wines that have received major awards from AIS, from the best vintages of 2016 and 2017.All the Planeta wines featured on Xtrawine are characterised by intense fruity and floral aromas and a strong flavour.
